many problems...let's start from the top. I'm running 10.1.4 on a G3, with a 6GB internal hard drive and a 40GB external, both Maxtor.
The last time I downloaded files with LimeWire a few weeks back (free version), all was well.
This morning all was not well. The interface was sluggish. My download folder was set to a subfolder in the external drive via FireWire, as it had always been. The songs would finish downloading, an error message would announce they were corrupted, and they would vanish.
I went to the site, which urged me to download a more current version, which I did (paid the $10 for Pro). Same problem with "corrupt" files, except now it was unmounting my external drive. Restart and try again.
I switched the download folder to a subfolder on the internal drive. Files still downloading as "corrupt" and vanishing. One seemed to work, but iTunes couldn't recognize its name, and once I played it, it unmounted my external drive, which had nothing to do with the transaction.
I won't complain about the primitive no-refund policy. I just want LimeWire to make me feel like I'm not a total chump for buying LW Pro. |
