I can't get it to work.

Tried whereis java

java :

Downloaded j2re-1.3.1-FCS-linux-i386.tar.bz2

Installed it to /usr/local/j2re1.3.1

Added the lines to .bash_profile

Tried whereis java again :

java :

What am I doing wrong?
