Pong fun diagnostics! Well, thanks to LimeWire 2.8.5 I get a new whole section of statistics to help me with any issuse I have. Yeah! Now, anyone want to help me optimize this puppy?
Running 2.8.5, behind a NAT box. The NAT box forwards TCP and UDP messages to the LimeWire machine. Just as a side note, I'm pretty sure that outbound connections also get NAT'ed with a source port other than 6346 (iptables different rules). Now, I'm looking at my stats. The largest packet type by far and away are pong messages. Now, under routing errors, I also get a huge number of pong errors. First, a stat question: Are the general pong stats both errors and successes? If so, 95% or so of my pongs are errors, which is dismal. Second, what causes such a large number of pong errors?
Also, I'm both forwarding and listening to UDP messages on 6346, and I get absoultely no packet activity over UDP, no matter what host type I'm connected to.
Always willing to play with my host and firewall, as usual. Tweaking assistance greatly appreciated. |
