Originally posted by NutterBudgie I still haven't heard what these boxes are, but I entered my user name & password in one then found a hidden .dat file in my downloads folder. It was named 'SThumb' and I know I didn't download it and its not a legitimate Limewire .dat file. I've jumped to the conclusion its a keystroke monitor, if anyone else can find it I'd suggest deleting it, I think its storing your keystrokes - passwords, credit card#, stuff like that. If anyone who knows .dat files could look into this?? |
STraNge ........I've found these two files on my computer ( .mdt-flag and .mtd-stamp) since these pop up have started. Although I never gave out my user name or password, I did type in mumbo jumbo (ie: dfdjdsfj and akjd;flja) for user name and password, (just messin with the recipient). Norton found these two invisible files because they started with a "period" ".", which are not allowed in the beginning of Mac file names, cause they are used in the programming.
