If the Search Window is showing (at least partially), then it sounds more like a memory problem.
How much memory do you have allocated to LimeWire? You need to increase it from its default.
Quit LimeWire. Click (once) on the LimeWire application to highlight it (the original, not an alias) and then go to File and choose Get Info and choose Memory. Change the memory settings to 10000 KB. That
should fix your problem.
