Default Downloading stops

Hi

Sadly, as the number of people coming on to the Gnutella network increases, you are going to find that many more of your downloads will fail. There is a technique that you can develop to improve the odds of completing the downloads but it is labour intensive. I regret to say that the days of clicking on, say, five different tracks, walking away from your computer and returning twenty minutes later to find five completed downloads are gone forever. For what it's worth, I reckon to complete about 2% of all downloads attempted and I consider that a job well done after two months of adapting to this reality. So you have to be prepared for failure. Keep the original source highlighted and keep the download highlighted. If the download fails, kill the download and restart from the original source (if that source was grouped and only one of the sources was giving you the goods, you should ungroup and keep the "good" source highlighted). When this fails (as it will), you should have a second seach on the exact typography of the downloading host set up ready. Leave the failed download in position and hit the search. With luck, that should reconnect you. I could go on, but you have to do some of the work.
