I've occasionally had problems with downloads.dat clearing (down to a 4k file) and erasing all my downloads requested or in progress. I see that this is a common problem on this forum, and the solution recommended is pretty much what I've been doing: backup the file frequently.

So far so good. But in the last week or so, downloads.dat has started clearing EVERY time I start Limewire! This makes my backups utterly useless. I tried upgrading to the latest version, and still have the same problem.

Can anyone get me out of this mess, or am I just going to have to start my list all over again?
