I had 1.6b. I tried to install both 1.4 and 1.6 (to different folders) and the problem would still exist in 1.6b while 1.4 worked. I even tried installing the two in a different order to see if it was the installation that did it, but 1.4 would always work while 1.6 wouldn't.
