Thanks for the suggestion. I believe that this behavior is simply the default tabbing behavior with Java 1.4 on OS X. So, it's a change that we implicitly made by making Java 1.4 the default version of Java to use for running LimeWire.
Apple likely decided to do this because it's the default tabbing behavior for all OS X applications, and we unfortunately do not have control over the tabbing policy.
