Newer LimeWire OSX installers (starting with 3.6.15) will only allow LimeWire to be installed on the system volume (the boot partition). Although installing to another volume would not immediately cause the problems described above (I tested by installing LimeWire to my iPod), it is safest to stick to tested methods. The newer installer also fixes other oversights in the installation process.
