Shamely this is a problem for users of iTunes that change their MP3 files with ID3v2 tags.

currently Limewire does not process ID3v2 tags (lots of caveats to parse them because there are so many variants of it and even compatibility issues and ambiguities in the ID3v2 formats which are not always upwards compatible).

There's an ongoing development to support some versions of ID3v2 tags, such as the one produced by iTunes's builtin MP3 tagger which is, it's right, much easier to use than adding separate meta-data within the Limewire library.

When Limewire will know how to parse ID3v2 tags, it will be able to share them with more useful meta-data (because I doubt that people are actually sharing files with no meta-data, no MP3 tag, no explicit filename.

Or may be these people are too lazy to enter titles when they rip their CDs in a single folder containing all tracks. This may happen if the CD has no entry in CDDB and these people are too lazy to enter their own meta-data and share it with CDDB for other users of CDDB using also MP3 rippers that can read these CDDB titles and insert them in the MP3 they are creating from their original CD.
