Many 'surveys' indicate that the non-sharers within Gnutella Network tend to average around 30% of the total 'participants' within Gnutella Network...
Big deal.
It's a foolish emotional issue.
More overall damage is done, and can be done, in pursuit of enforced sharing...
I share a total of about 2,400 eBooks...
Normally U/L an average 900Mb - 1.05Gb per day...
And... Guess what ?
Sometimes I turn off sharing.
There can also be very, very good reasons to stop sharing for a while...
Hashing a very large number of files, for an example.
Many other reasons, as well...
Think a lot harder before you get worked up about something that is really a very small problem.
In specific regard to the actual topic of the 1st post, I have very strong opinions about any client that considers it to be a correct form of coercion to disable display of any shared folders if sharing is disabled.
I could easily say what I really think about that, but then I would have to delete my own post rather heavily. Male bovine excrement doesn't really get the full feeling across.
p.s. Just out of tiny technical curiousity...
Does anyone know what size gun was held against the head of ezfig when ezfig decided to pay for software that is free ?
Now, THAT could be very valuable information to SHARE with others ! |
