Duplicate Incomplete *identical* files Hello,
here is my problem (technical?)
I am trying to download a file, say of 763593489 bytes, with title say MyFavoriteCartoon.avi.
Being aroung 760megs I did not expect it to do it in one gulp: however then I find elsewhere
My_Favorite_cartoon_.avi
of the EXACT same length (how do I know? The incomplete file has the size at the beginning T-763593489 etc...).
Now, chances are (the title are way too specific) that this is the same file with two names (damn those renamers!!!), and so here we go again from 0%!
(In fact I did a byte-by-byte comparison of the first few kilobites and random samples here and there with hexedit: just IDENTICAL)
[I have now THREE instances of the file at 3%, 45%, and 84% with minor differences in the filenames....... DARN]
Is there a way to hack the download.dat file and force limewire to acknowledge it is downloading the same file?
Or just copy the content of the more "advanced" download onto the less advanced one (but where to write in the .dat file the new status?)?
(I tried once on a different file but the result was that limewire just "lost sight" of it).
Version: Limewire 3.8.10 on linux Mandrake 9.1
Well I guess I was detailed enough....
