Bah...Agent Ransack eventually found it in a hidden directory in a part of the filesystem ten thousand miles away from Limewire itself. It seems to want to save some settings on a per-user basis on multiuser OSes. The location in a hidden directory predictably made the built in Windows search fail to find it. Even with show hidden files etc. turned on in it, in Explorer, and everywhere else I've seen such a setting...
