You are likely using the wrong language. To change LimeWire to English, click the second menu item (it is 'View', but if it's the wrong language you won't be able to read it), and the last sub-menu item (it should have an arrow to the right of it) -- one of the options that appears should be 'English (United States)'. After selecting that, restart LimeWire.
