In the interest of solving this (if it is a software fault) I'm running OSX 1.5 on a G4 with 768MB Ram. This what comes up in the console when it hangs up:


*** malloc[270]: Deallocation of a pointer not malloced: 0x22ef0; This could be a double free(), or free() called with the middle of an allocated block; Try setting environment variable MallocHelp to see tools to help debug

No idea what the hell it means......
