If you are disconnected, you won't be able to find anything. The gnutella network is not the most stable thing around, and so it is often that case that you will be disconnected. You just need to wait to be reconnected. Increasing the number of connections on the connections tab to 2 or 3 (for modem users) may increase the chances of staying connected at all times.
