If you are running IE or Netscape try this first -

Go to Control Panel, select Java, select the browser tab. uncheck Netscape and IE, reboot & try.

If you still get an error go to add/remove, uninstall Java, then go here -

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

Download and re install Java.
