unable to connect behind school firewall I'd like to send out a plea from all those whose problems with connecting to limewire are probably, i feel, due to university ofr other shcool firewalls. I'm not an expert, its just that I've tried every other possible fix and nothing is working. I've added gnutella to firewall acceptances, i've deleted the .limewire folder. it just won't connect. I'm using Windows XP. Obviously I'm bummed cuz i know how good limewire is and i was psyched about finally using limewire pro. anyways, to all the brilliant software engineers: From what I've said, do you think I'm right that the school is blocking access to gnutella networks? Is there anything we can do to circumvent the university firewall, assuming that is the problem? Let us all know, it would be so great to have this working.
Cheers,
Ross
P.S. - I don't like Kazaa, but i dl'd it just to see if it would work. it doesn't. of course, IE and AIM do. does this add up? |
