True. THEX support was added in LimeWire especially for that:
it allows detecting corrupted files long before the download completes, and allows recovering from corrupted sources by using others sources with compatible THEX data.
THEX is more than just a simple file content signature; it computes signatures on smaller file fragments, and arrange them in a binary tree that allows checking which parts of the file is corrupted.
