![]() Am having great difficulty in downloading pictures from my digital camera to the PICTURES FOLDER in Windows 8. How is the job done? Please don't ask me to use flash drives. For one thing they are expensive in Malta whilst cds are cheap. Secondly, after downloading the pictures to the pictures folder, how to put them on a cd? I use Firefox, Windows 8 and am trying to get used to a new Acer laptop which I have never used before. Please, will you give me step by step instructions, as if I were a young schoolboy, as at my age (75) I have become slow on the uptake. Many thanks. |

![]() I'm a Mac user and we have different ways of doing things compared to Windows. However I found these links from the MicroSoft site which might be helpful: How do I import photos from a digital camera, memory card reader, CD, or DVD? - Import Photos Burn a CD or DVD in Windows Media Player I also found this site: Managing Files, Photos & Music in Windows 8 which explains it all and also View Photos from the Windows 8 Desktop. Ignore the name of this website, it's actually a very helpful website with good explanations and sample images. No doubt you would burn a Data CD. With only images, it should also be playable in a DVD player. At least on the Mac, arranging them into folders representing topics will result in these topics showing in a menu on a DVD player. I'm not sure if this is the same if using WMP. mp3 disks can be arranged the same way such as folders for artists and maybe album folders. And likewise disks that have video files on them such as mp4, etc. if your DVD player supports such formats. |

![]() Likewise on my mac, simply put the memory drive in. Usually an app will automatically open (such as iPhoto) to import them but can be manually copied across. But that's on a mac. And a few other choices to import photos if desired, Photoshop, Photo Booth. |

![]() Thks for your usual courtesy in replying, but what I need to know is how to get files saved in PICTURES onto a cd. The files consist only of photos downloaded from my digital camera. I am not using a card reader, as I did when I had Windows XP. With Windows 8, there must be a way (possibly by dragging?) to put the photos on a cd. I am now using an ACER laptop and Firefox. Renewed thanks, from Joe Busuttil |
