Next step(s)... Ask ANY questions that you want and if people come down heavy on you cuz you're supposedly a 'newbie'... ignore them... They are ALL with defective memories, ha ha !

Most important for starters is to remember that you are NOT swapping only particular types of files... You can swap ANYTHING that can be stuffed into a file !
Movies, books, maps, screenplays, applications, images... er... anything !

Don't feel 'locked' into using just one 'client' or program...

BEWARE of 'bad files' - they can really hurt your machine... and the computers of others if you share to them...

Boring as it may be, please read as much as you can around these forums... There's an enormous amount of knowledge, help, caring and lunacy available here !!!

hey can we use this site then to let each other know what program such as limewire and what the username to contact each other as a personal upload and download contact through these programs?

Registered members here in Gnutella Forums can communicate with one another via Private Messages...
PMs are private. Mods do not and cannot view them.
Sooooo.....

The one big bad bit about people communicating with PMs is that, if there are problems and solutions are discovered, the general membership here does not benefit. Right ?
And, setting up any 'private' file sharing denies those files to the Gnutella Network.

Aside from those two bits of bad... Go for it !

Hi I quite a few mp3 backing tracks (excellent quality) and would be interested in swopping them with one's from you. How do we go about it?

Simply share your files...
In other words, add your files to whatever folder you are now using for the files you are allowing to be shared... Or add the folder that contains your 'backing tracks' to the Shared Folders list in whatever Gnutella Network 'client' you are using.
