BS sends a signal out using Internet Explorer, not sure exactly what that is all about, but it does..hence a redirect (I notice quite a few HP installed redirects in the HiJackThis report) might jack with you...and as a fact, HP is paid to pre-install spyware on their machines....!@#$%^&*( a$$holes.....so definitely run AdAware and Spybot to try and clean it up!

one further possible culprit....go to Program Files\BearShare Test\db folder and delete ALL files with library in their names....then restart BS and see what happens

read the details of how I have my BS configured here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=62890

if your internet connection is similare, then configure your copy the same...

you haven't posted the specs of your computer, so perhaps doing so will enable me to make a judgement if there are other issues...

I highlight and download a large number of files at once, and have never had BS crash on me (though on large numbers of multiple files it will lag a bit)

never mind on the specs of your box, as I noticed they were in one of the reports you posted...the only big difference between yours and mine is that I have 2GB of ram...

your pagefile setting seems a tad high, but within range....since you most likely have your OS set to automatically configure that, leave it as such

I don't have iTunes setup on my computer (because I refuse to participate in such a limited device as those made by Apple), but the BS beta version linked to in this post has the ability to work with iTunes
