access denied, is the message i get when i try to access my HP_Administrator folder, because thats the folder i had before i used the recovery disk for my computer... how can i change that, is it possible? i think if i can delete my bearshare stuff in that then maybe bearshare wont crash...

Can you log in under that account? If not, you would need XP Professional in order to take owner status over that folder.

No, I am saying that if she's running XP Home, the necessary tools to transfer
ownership of that folder to another Admin are not available.

…though it may be possible to use those tools if they are on a CD nearby.

Anybody know the names of those .MSC files? I don't have a Pro disk handy right now. ;]

actually, there is another 'hack' that is rather frowned upon to post..it applies to all NT based OS's, and can be used to circumvent admin passwords
