i am having a problem with this program
that is it will not connect it says it is but i wont i have been useing this program for many months with no problems but in the last week it wont connect i have uninstaled and d/loded a new one installed but it still wont connect i was told that bareshare mp3 was the best as it connects to g1 and g2 and to be honist it seemed to nock spots of all the others morph lime and bareshare so i would love to stick with this one
p.s. i have not done anything to the pc that might have caused this problem i think
so any help would be great

Never heard of that one, so it must be a counterfeit. Get rid of it, scan your
system for spyware and viruses, then try the one in this thread: BearShare has been sabotaged.

Also, make sure the "parental controls" part of the AOL software is turned off.
It tries to proxy all traffic in order to filter out stuff, and that will never be
able to work fast enough to keep up with BearShare.

Dloaded and installed, I can see how you might of thought it real, however the big warning signal here should have came when there was no bear in the icon. Mine didn't connect either (didn't expect it to as I had 3 applications blocking it), however my spyware detected spyware being installed, it might be adware and harmless or even a false positive but I recommend downloading one of Aaron's recommended versions of BShare or the new one located at The World's Fastest File Sharing | Colossal Legal Music Collection | Electrifying Music Community

I don't recommend the new one. Too much DRM and the new company is not nearly trustworthy enough. ;]

And you have to register, I am guessing through registration they can track downloads?
Doesn't matter as I don't use v6, I am still using v5 though, the one that can be deactivated.

The free tracks have DRM so yes, I think they can be tracked. They can even
be disabled for any reason, according to their humourous yet hostile EULA.

If ever you want to kick up the performance grab the b25 beta. You can
download from up to 50 sources instead of under 20 and you can shift it into
ultrapeer mode (connecting to 18 Bears and 8 Limes) so your searches get a
lot of traction too.

Since it also gives you plenty of info (much more than v6 or any version of
LimeWire) you can also weed through thickets of worms and fakes quite easily.
It was probably that unique ability alone which prompted the RIAA to sue Free
Peers and force them to sell it to their friends at iMesh so they could replace it
with their crippled iMesh software in disguise.
