I uninstalled every version of Bearshare. My Bearstart only lasts about a second before my laptop converts the time back to the current time.

what flavor of windoze are you using? how much ram, and how much free space on your HDD (hard disk drive)

also, when was the last time you defragmented your system?

I suspect that your system is perhaps slowed down by a fragmented HDD and because of that the bearstart utility is unable to successfully do its work...

I've off and on seen the start utility fail to work and have noticed the odds of that happening to pretty much be 0 if my OS drive is freshly optimized...
