![]() I upgraded to PRO...The only benefit is the lack of ads, but I still cannot connect on a regular basis. I can ocassionally set up to download five tunes, but during the donwload session I find I am advised "Unconnected/No files available" How can I connect when I have spent as often as 10 minutes continually trying to click on connect, to no availa? Please note, I am a computer USER, not a tech. I don't understand all the references to various techniques, but would simply like to know how to log on and stay logged on. Thanx if anyone can help---==ROSS== |

![]() First you have to make sure that your connected to gnutella in the row of LED lights in the top right when the first one is green then you are connected and it should stay connected. As for helping to get downloads to work. If your having trouble finding something then try to make the search a little more general like use just the artist name. When downloading try to download off the ones that have a longer rank bar and + signs next to them that means you can download off more than one source so there is a better chance it will work. If your current downloads run out of sources, unavaible, no push route or doesnt start after a while you can right click it and select Find more sources which will search for more sources so it can hopefully start. |

![]() Sephiroth--Thanks for your reply, but I see no LEDs on my screen during connect or unconnect situations. My problem is basically that when I fire up Limewire, I never know if I will be connected. Sometimes it's smiling at me ready to start downloading, other times I can click forever and not be able to get a connection. Other times, I may connect, set up to download a few tunes, actually get them working, and during the session see that "Unconnect/no files available" is on the screen. This means files already downloading will continue to do so, but otherwise I am out of business as Limewire choses to ignore the fact I am trying to work. BTW--I have occasion to go to the local library and hook up to a T1 system, rather than using my local ISP and modem. During these times, I never, repeat never, have any problems with the disconnect readings. Also, I note my basic problem is not my local ISP, because i can sometimes work sucessfully at home, albeit a wee bit slower. I'm running a Gateway P4, 1.6MgH with 128 ram, so theoretically, I have enough push to make this thing work, even if it is a gateway. ==Thanks for any help you might offer =ROSS= Hi Ross..... Ross you have posted this in the wrong forum. This should have been posted in the LimeWire Forum. I cannot decide whether to move your posts to LimeWire Forums or leave it here, because Sephiroth has already replied to you. Ross, there is both a BearShare and LimeWire PRO version. Sephiroth's advice to you was not crazy, honest! The problem is that you did not specify LimeWire in your first post! Maybe one of the regular BearShare mods will decide to move this for you, but in the meantime, try asking your questions in the LimeWire Forums. ![]() Last edited by ursula; June 16th, 2002 at 11:10 PM. |
