I configured everything in Bearshare, right from the start, since it is pretty simple and straighforward. No problems with that. The real problem is in the bad software it is. Maybe a real genius like you can share with us all your wisdom.
You really can't turn sh*t into gold, no matter what you try. It is pretty simple. Or the network is highly unstable, be it because of Bearshare or not, or this piece of cr*p can't handle it anymore. Is Bearshare dead? Ok, we can handle all that. No prob, at all. Just stop telling everybody it is the greatest thing since man invented the wheel, because it isn't. It really s*cks, since some moron decided to start using SaveNow and NewNet. It used to work before.
