As Raaf said, you should do a virus check IMMEDIATELY.

You should do this with your computer DISCONNECTED from your ISP.

You have almost certainly Downloaded a DIALER program.
This can (probably will) cost you very much REAL MONEY.

If you have recently D/Led a so-called 'crack' or key-gen or D/Led a compressed file which needed a 'key' to open it, than you have a serious problem which must be corrected immediately.

A file may appear to be the 'correct' size yet when you open it you are told you need to first 'unlock' the file to continue the extraction process on the file.
This, from my experience, is normally with .rar compressed files. (But, not exclusive to them.)

ALWAYS examine D/Led files first by doing a 'properties' check on it.

You will find numerous threads here which refer to this problem, but I am afraid that few of them are very helpful.

A virus-checker will quite possibly miss these 'dialer' files, adding to your problem.

The reason why you must disconnect from your ISP... Manually disconnect by pulling the plug, I mean... Is that when you are connected to the net the 'dialer' program is running and making and maintaining a telephone connection to a 'dialer service'...

YOU ARE PAYING FOR THAT CALL.

The telephone tariff or rate for such calls is normally a minimum of the equivalent of US$1.50 per minute.
That is the minimum... It can be much, much higher.

I hope for you that you are able to find and properly and thoroughly delete the file(s).
