Bearshare Moved or Changed Message?
 

Hi,

I just tried to open Bearshare. I received a message that said:

The item Bearshare.exe that this shortcut refers to has been changed or will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?

YES or NO

I'm still very much a rookie when it comes to computers in general. So, for anyone responding to this message, please use SIMPLE terms.

Oh, I should mention that I'm using the FREE version of Bearshare.

First, apologies that your post has been ignored... Not Good !

You could help us to help you by supplying a bit more info about your system, but we can know that it is Windows for your OS, at least...

What you have said implies that something... some 'event'... has altered the 'path' from your Desktop Shortcut for BearShare...

The easiest thing for you to do is to simply delete the existing shortcuts for BearShare and re-install BearShare... Alowing for the launch icon and BS DownLoads to be once again placed on your Desktop - Afresh !


See if that works for you first... Later, if you reply with a report, we can perhaps help you with other stuff re: configuring BearShare and also some tips on file management...

Also, Cherri... If you have general computer operating questions in the future - questions that are general and not really specific to one particular 'client' (i.e. BearShare ior LimeWire or whatever), try posting here in the Tips & Tricks Forum...

This problem occurs of you’ve had BearShare/BearShare Lite installed then installed BearShare Beta (BearShare Test)

Just reinstall BearShare.
