Ver 2.3.0 and Proxy Server 2.0 Bearshare 2.2.7 had no problem going through my Proxy server (MS Proxy 2.0), but 2.3.0 is giving me problems. I have opened port 6346 for SOCKS (4) connections. I do not believe Bearshare uses TCP or UDP packets so I can not open 6346 for Winsock. Can somebody let me know if Bearshare does use TCP or UDP and if not does anyone have some ideas on how to configure my Proxy? Thanks, Jason |
Packets on the Gnutella network... ... as well as the file transfers through the internet are in TCP/IP... Request protocol is HTTP... ... just like a web browser :) BTW, I don't think BearShare speaks "SOCKS"... just open for Winsock... |
Indeed, BearShare DOES require winsock to function properly... |
I run bear share 2.3.0 thru winproxy 3.0 using SOCKS 5 - It connected with no problems. Now if I could just find a reliable host...... |
