How Do I Play AVI Files? Hello All, I am having trouble playing AVI type files. I tried at least a few AVI type players from cnet and they didn't work for most AVI type files. Any suggestions? reply Did you wait 'til the AVI file downloads completely? Cause if it doesn't, it won't play, you won't be able to preview it. You gotta wait until the AVI file is 100% downloaded, then it will play. At least that's what's happening to me. And if it still doesn't play, than you're probably using the wrong player. I use Windows Media Player 10. And it works. Sorry if it didn't help. And hey, do u wanna hear my own song? Then search LimeWire for " Boyz N Da Hood ft Bucks G - Bush N Da Hood". It's my first one. |

I'm new to all this and I've been downloading movies in avi and mpg. My avi's seem to work great on Windows Media Player, after I downloaded (and even paid for some) half a dozen players that didn't do the job. Now I've got all this junk on my computer I don't really need. Wish I had more technical answers for you, but I've got only experience. I'm not good at deciphering the help files, so it's trial and error for me. I hope the Windows player will work for you. If you've already tried it, try it again and play with the settings. That's usually how I get something to finally work, though I end up never remembering what I did, so I can do it again. Lots of luck! |

Play AVI files "Hello All, I am having trouble playing AVI type files. I tried at least a few AVI type players from cnet and they didn't work for most AVI type files. Any suggestions? "deleted". " In response to that, I can actually help since I had the very same problem! You need to do TWO things. 1. Completely delete the program you use then reinstall the latest upgrade for it. That's even if it's the same version. 2. Download: ACE Mega Codecs Pack Dashboard and install. This will put the extra codes you need in all of your video viewing files. Go here: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/acemega_codec.html It worked for me, hope it works for you, too! Marc001 |
