Hi, I'm new to BearShare. A friend of mine told me about it, he has the old version. I downloaded v6 and now know the issues with v6. As a new user is it possible to download the old version.

read the first post in this thread and try out the expired beta version and use the bearstart utility to run it....make sure to read all of this thread for hints on how to configure and get the fullest out of it

Sabotaged...maybe

This thread ROCKS! Thanks for a ton of help on getting my 'ol BS back online.

BUT! There seems to be a new problem. When I search for a particular file, say an mp3, the one that has the most sources automatically is "downloaded" -- but not by me! The program automatically is doing it, making it impossible to choose the file with the most sources and forcing me to have to choose a file that will take longer to dload.

Did I make myself understood? What's going on here??

Lost the real BareShare and got it back, will it last?

I did it all, Reset system using goback, then changed the date on my computer to refelct an earlier time when the old bearshare worked. Now bearshare works !! Help !! I love to Share !!

I am really confused lol about whitch version of BS is the best or most sercured etc.
Can some one just give me a version that would be best pretty please?

I am running windows vista home premium, but i wud like it to be able to run on my laptop whitch is running on windows xp pro.maybe if its ok on my xp laptop i may put it onto my vista laptop.

Oh and the older versions, they are still safe arnt they?

Yes, and they work best on XP because Vista is not recognized as a valid version,
so BearShare reverts to Win9x settings.

The beta in the first post of this thread is the best one of all.
