One more thing, could it be to do with Windows Updates?

I've got my computer set to automatically download updates and think it was downloading something yesterday.

Hello, if your shared folder is giving an error report there is definatley something in there thats making Santa crash....
I dont think it has anything to do with the updates though...
When the error report from your shared folder appears click on the part where it says more information (I think its something like that, I dont have an error report in front of me lol) Find out the code of the error and then do a search of your comp for that file, when it finds it delete it...

Once you have that done go back to your shared folder and see what file has gone..Santa should work fine from then on...

Please let me know how your going with this

Wink

Before I click for more info, the error signature it gives is this:

"AppName: dvdsanta.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: xvid.ax
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0003d928"

When I click to view the error report (Sorry that I can't c&p this here), it gives this:

"Exception Information
Code: 0xc0000094 Flags: 0xc00000000
Record: 0xc0000000000000000 Address: oxc000000001003d928"

Then it gives some system info and then about 60 module things. Erm. Like "module 1
dvdsanta.exe
image base: 0xc00400000"...

It goes on like that for ages.

(I'm not too compatible with these things, please bear with me! )

I've tried searching for the code:0xc0000094 on my computer, but it's not found anything.

Thankyou for you help so far!

Hmmm, Ive never had the actual Santa come up in the report...

I'm not all that computer savy myself I tend to play around until it's fixed lol..

We will work this out together...

You can probably C&P it to notepad by pressing Ctrl+C then opening notepad and clicking on paste or pressing enter. Not that I could tell anything from the error report but somebody might be able to.

I've found the xvid.axfile, but I'm not sure which programme I need to open it with. When I try to open it it asks to select a programme or search on the web. Searching on the web opens up this: http://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/0...dir.asp?Ext=ax

But that's just a blank page.

Ctrl & C doesn't work either. It won't let me highlight anything in the error report.

Perhaps all you need is an updated XviD codec: Nic's Binary - XviD_Install.exe - NEW

I've installed the new codec and I still get the error message. Is there anything else I need to do once I've installed the codec?

Ok...Try removing Santa and all traces of it off your computer and then download it again http://www.dvdsanta.com
We will see if that makes a difference now...
