![]() I paid for, downloaded and installed the newest version of BearShare Pro a few days ago. After doing that I noticed that Internet Explorer wasn't working very well. I thought it was because I had a lot of old games and programs installed on my computer that I don't use anymore and that was making it slow. So I formatted my hard drive and installed WindowsXP Home Edition fresh. After doing all of the Windows updates and installing all the drivers and programs that I use on a regular basis, I noticed that Internet Explorer was still running slow... ... what I found was that when I started my computer up, Internet Explorer works perfectly fine until I started BearShare. After doing that Internet Explorer would not work! Even after I turn off BearShare it would not work! It would only work normally again after I reboot the computer! What happens is this... I start up Internet Explorer... I type in a URL. The status bar says "Connecting to site: 23.145.12.123" or whatever IP address. It stays this way for about 30 seconds. Then it says "Website found. Opening Page" it then stays this way for minutes and minutes and never shows the page at all. So I tried formatting again and just doing the updates and drivers and only installing 1 program... BearShare... SAME PROBLEM! I tried the FireFox browser and it works fine... until I start up BearShare... after that the FireFox browser won't even load when I click on it. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? I used free BearShare for a long time then I bought it now it is messing up my computer! If anyone has a solution I would appreciate it. Thank You. |

![]() BearShare can put a heavy load on the internet drivers. There's a handy little speed throttle built into the indicator graph next to the lights that can help. http://www.bearshare.com/help/bandwidth.htm Do you see the little triangle at the right end of the graph? It's on the right end next to the lights. Grab it and drag left until it's farther left than the red and green speed bars were going. Once you are done surfing you can put it back to the right end, letting BearShare hog all the bandwidth again. If that still isn't helping maybe you have other problems. If you want help with that get BearShare Diagnostics and follow the directions in that tool. |

![]() Hello, Thank you for the help! You were right it was going to like 900kbps. I have tried it out and I found if I put it all the way down to %1 it doesn't affect the speed of IE. And if I put it down to %3 it slows it down a little bit but it doesn't slow it down enough to frustrate me... anymore than that and it's way too slow. Anyways, thanks very much for the help!!! |
