Question mp3 playback problems w/ bearshare

I have winme and use winamp. I've noticed that as a use bearshare, I have a progressive problem with interruptions (that weird droning sopund) in the audio playback. I thought this was a memory resource problem, but even w/ memturbo up and running, I get the same intermittent playback distortion. I have to reboot after a couple of days.

Any solutions?

Try another Gnutella client? Hmmm... AFAIK Bearshare has still problems with the resume (doesn't provide a overlapp check yet IMHO), so it might resume different files into one MP3s and then you'll hear artifacts. Sometimes you will even download with other clients bad MP3s, because some people share bad quality.

Good luck, Moak

No!

Never had problems with the resume!

Moak do you need support?

A few times it happened that I downloaded a broken MP3!

Morgwen? Bearshare does still not check when resuming files, right? So it might happen and it will happen that you resume files that do not match... you will download and create MP3s with artifacts.

Yes Moak!

But if you know that, and check it for yourself... the resume is working perfekt!

So check if the name and the size match...

the second way is to change the client!

Morgwen? Thousands use Bearshare, thousands do not know that the resume of Bearshare does create corrupted files or MP3s with artifacts, also thousands share some of these corrupted files again.

Try another Gnutella client? That's not ment in a bad way, sorry, but Bearshare has a real resume problem for months.

Yes Moak,

but Colbyd ask for solutions and changing the client is not the only solution!

I have agreed that changing the client is "one" 1 solution!

My statement was not an offense against you!

Yes, if you write down name and size from every starting download and compare if with every new search result, before clicking on download. Hehe.... okay... if you prefer that. But I'm lazy and like it easy, I use another client = Moak is a milkdrinker.

Btw, did you get my mail?
