need help: "generic failure"

ok so i had a problem with bear share it had a "generic failure" so i deleted BS but none of my heard drive space came back do the files you download get stored somewhere and if so how do you get to them

be default your saved files are in *:\My Downloads

also, temporary files reside in the folder BearShare in the Program Files directory
