Bearshare forum shows racism The "promotion" of Evil Bear shows that www.bearshare.net is clearly rewarding racist remarks made against German ppl. Some highly visible (ie the first post in the thread) remarks were edited out as a PR measure, but many many other racist remarks were allowed to remain. If bearshare.net is truly trying to discourage racism, then Evil Blood should have been banned - instead he is "promoted". |

Also, the editing wasn't for PR, it was because the remarks were extremely racist, and fortunately a Moderator saw it and took it out. There are only two Mods at BearShare.net, one with a full time job and family, and the other one is in school. They're unable to spend a lot of time sifting through every post in every forum to edit other racist remarks, along with the other things they must keep track of. If you know of any, please help them out by reporting the posts by clicking the "Alert" link found in every post. Thanks! Last edited by Brotaris; December 21st, 2001 at 09:07 AM. |

Hi Morgwen, I can't explain the "Evil Bear" status, except that maybe the guy asked to have that put there. In this forum I see that Moak is called "Java & Milk Drinker". How do you explain that? Was he rewarded for something? The BearShare staff may have mod rights, but they rarely do it. They're busy with development and other business tasks. Becker and someone else (not sure who) does almost all of the moderating there, so it's hard for two people to keep up with it all. Whenever you see a post that offends you, just click the "Alert" link in the post. The moderators will get an email message about it and check it out. |

This I explain very easy! Everyone can change his status here... Look in the member list! its your free choice... on bearshare.net only the admi Vinnie and his staff can change the status! The explaination for "evil bear" is easy... Evil defended Vinnie and perhaps he asked him (or Vinnie offered him!) but this was a reward for his attacks against me! This is bad public relation for bearshare.net, as Vinnies poll is too! Morgwen Last edited by Morgwen; December 21st, 2001 at 10:09 AM. |
