BearShare Wont Open, Help Please!
 

Everytime i try to open BS this past week a thing pops up that says "A component required to run bearshare is missing or corrupt & will need to be installed"

How do i fix it?

Depends on what version of BS you are using...

Normally you just reinstall... There are files that 'retain' your configurations and your pending (incomplete) downloads, so no worry, 'normally' !

But, we need more info from you...

Version of BS
Windows version
Memory
CPU
the usual...

Have you recently run any 'Registry Cleaner' or 'Plug-In Cleaner' programs ?
They could have roached some of your settings...

btw, if the BS version is 6, then me know nada... and never will ! :rolleyes:

The only time I have seen such a message was when the Zango/180solutions
spyware was temporarily included in BearShare. No doubt your antivirus or
antispyware protection detected and obliterated that vile critter.

Roll back to any 5.1 version of BearShare and never upgrade again. The info
and downloads you need are here: BearShare has been sabotaged.
