i have this for a long time now and it work on the desktop not on the laptop but i need it to work on both so please help me with a working one so i can have this done it says to me that it can not conect to it

If you are using both on the same network, you'll have to change the port
number on one of them in Setup/Connection.

Of course, there are many possible causes of such a problem. If changing
the port doesn't help much, grab a copy of BearDiag and post a zip with
the report as an attachment.

what is the ports that i have to use can you direct me on that thanks

Use any port number between 1025-65535.
