Can't Unsubscribe When i originally chose to subscribe it said for 1.00 a month, I said that sounds great, I can do that. Well, the following month when I receive the next bill it is for $7.95, not the 1.00 that I signed up for. This is illegal, and bearshare could be sued b/c of it. Now possibly, the pricing changed b/c Bearshare had to pay a company to settle a lawsuit, so to cover that expense, they raised prices, and again it would be illegal not to notify current subscribers of the change in pricing.
Next topic on my list is unsubscribing by telephone. I have spent about 6 hours total now, trying to cancel by telephone, every time I get to about you are the next person to be serviced, or you are the third person to be waited on, and automated system cuts on, saying that do to call volume, they can not answer my call right now, and to call back later. If this happens every time, and you can't actually talk to an operator that would also be illegal.
I have also sent several emails now to the email address that is given, for the billing department to be able to unsubscribe if you choose not to use the phone service. Out of about 10 emails, 0 of them were responded too. If they make it actually impossible to unsubscribe by giving options with deadends, that is again illegal. Most company websites even the ones owned by kids, that have a subscription, offer a way on the website to access the account you create, and a way to unsubscribe on the website, not from just calling in or sending an email (which they also offer).
Since I have been unable to reach someone via telephone or email, I have had to call my bank, and dispute the charge. If I am unable to unsubscribe, or changes are not made to make it easier to unsubscribe, I will take legal action. I would hate to do it since I truly do enjoy using bearshare, especially when I have the urge to listen to a song that I can't seem to find at the music store. I will do what I have to do though to make things easier on the next guy that needs to unsubscribe, or like me doesn't like that fact that I was mislead when I subscribed about there would be a different cost after the first initial charge. |
