the whole joke here is that beasty thinks they haven't been reamed, when they have to some extent...yes, musiclab, llc is the current owner of BearShare...and they do charge a fee...but to set things straight, they are in no way actually providing any sort of downloads, rather selling the software to do so...the people who use the Gnutella network are the providers of the files, and as I noted in my first post in this thread there is a BETTER alternative which is FREE...its also not filled with other nasties that I'm sure are in the version of BS they are using...

Peerless,

Well, at 2,500 MB in 3 hours on satellite ain't too bad. And I don't OC which is probably why I can afford a legitimate P2P without constantly having to replace fans and the processor. I bet your only excitement in life is playing computer games.
So big deal, you've traded stability for speed and stupidity (RaidO and striping).
Everyone nowadays has bus mastering. You act like you're the first one that's had it. You probably only have 533mhz and that's why you have to OC.
I've come to the conclusion that your Northbridge hit head-on with your Southbridge and your PCI and ISA devices don't know whether to SH*t or go blind.
As far as your sentence: "we have a forum script which edits out certain words and such".....blah blah blah............let me know when you get your head out of your butt and figure out why the WORDS "One Dollar" was edited out.........(duh, where'd'e go George?)

To Boobyboy,
If you'll read back on the post you'll see that I merely asked an "unfortunate" question. I was not complaining about my payments. However, I see now that this place is about as far from adult as you can get.

All you people had to say was something similar to:

"Gnutella does not charge money for Bearshare. Check into this".

Instead, you people expect others to spend their entire off-duty days figuring out how many damn Bearshares there are and who did what to who.

If Musiclab is charging extra then you must have signed up for their premium service
which costs extra, and then you started renting music from them without realizing
they would charge you rent on that music.

Personally, I wouldn't trust that notorious spyware vendor (they used to be called
iMesh) with my email address, much less a credit card.

I suggest you go hide under a rock in Germantown, Maryland.....

OCing 10% does nothing bad..as noted I make it sing nicely without over pushing things...and yes I do benchmark test to verify it...as long as one does not start changing the voltages to the cpu, then things are usually fine when you have taken the time to find the sweet spot of it all...this machine is over 2 years old and has been OC'd the whole time...sounds like yur an awful n00b about tech stuff you idiot...yep, a definite candidate for Moron Of The Month, eh uk?

as a fact my cpu is a 2.8 pentium 4 , which is now running at 3012 MHz because of my OCing...the ram is PC3200 which has a real clock of 200MHz (intel quad steps) and is operating at an effective clock of 429MHz....

the above system with 2 gigs of ram (4 sticks operating in dual channel mode) will transcode and burn a typical .avi file in about an hour....stability??? as noted you dillhole I took the time to find the sweet spot and benchmarked it to verify it was worth the trouble...I have no instability, the system is rock solid....

btw....YUR BANNED

Don't waste your time! I had BSPro once and when I couldn't get it to work they wouldn't even respond to my questions. IMHO BS don't stand for BearShare it stands for **** ****. You Know.

About two years ago? They were being sued out of business by the MAFIAA around that time.
