Bearshare Errors I use the beta of bearshare with bearstart... and bearshare keeps closing down because library failed to load and such... How do I fix this? |
go to program files Program Files\BearShare Test\db and delete all of the files with the word library in them...then restart |
I did and after anohter little while of Bearshare, it closed and set "Your copy of Bearshare has expired" or something along the lines and so I open it up again and I got this again.. Is there a permanent fix? Sometimes it lasts like an hour... other times like 15 minutes.. .\GLibraryWatchDb.cpp (#176) Fatal Error: Unable to load library database. Reason: Generic Failure BearShare will automatically attempt to create a new database when it is restarted. Your old database files have been saved for possible diagnosis. Contact technical support for more information. We apologize for the inconvenience. |
there may be other issues going on here....I've had to do the ol' delete all files with library in their name a few times, but the 'fix' usually lasts a long time...the expired notice makes me think that perhaps your system is lagging because of other issues and the craxor to change the date so that the beta version works is not working fast enough...i.e. BearShare is opening up before the craxor takes effect...try defragmenting your OS drive and see if that stops this particular problem...in general defragmenting of your OS drive should occur at least monthly... |
If you're trying to share a lot of files and RAM is low it could cause the expiry notice and your library problems. Clear out your downloads folder and strip out all the nonessential stuff from Windows bootup. |
