Bearflix problem

Im running vista and version 1.1.6.1

Iv been a regular user of bearlfix in the past however suddenly Iv been unable to even start the program and now when I start it up the following error message comes up

.\GLibraryDb.cpp (#1349) untested_variable_error

When I try to run it on my windows XP laptop it simply says 'bearflix has stopped working and needs to close' as soon as I run the program.

Is anyone having the same problems and if so do they have any solutions.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I would strongly advise you to use an older version of BearShare.

See > http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...sabotaged.html

The best of the old is 'available' in the first post...

h so has this 'sabotage' spread to bearflix as well.

If so thanks for the advice.

Is this 'best oldest version of bearshare' able to download video files and if not is there a download of the old version of bearshare that was able to download both audio and video files?

Thanks a lot for the help again.

BearFlix IS the sabotage !

Best for you to read (wade?) through the thread...
All of your questions will probably be answered !

Specifically, I am sure that you will find an enormous increase in performance by going back to the older pre-rip-off stuff...

Read on and all will be revealed...
(Much of it is a not very pretty story !)

Please let us know how you get on...

OK Iv now downloaded an old bearshare version and it works perfectly but for one quite significant thing.

When I close the program or shut down my computer, and then start the program up again all my previous download progress is lost. So for example if Im downloading a boxing fight thats 400megs in size and it gets to 100megs by the time I want to shut my computer down. Then when I start the program up again all that 100meg progress is gone and I have to start all over again.

This is unusual as Iv never had this problem before with any version of bearshare of bearflix in the many years Iv been using the application.

Move the temp folder to a place not specifically under your login name, like
C:\bearsharetemp and then make sure you have full access to the new folder by
right-clicking on it, go into Properties and in the security tab make sure "Everybody"
has full access.

If your Control Panel user accounts tool has the ability, change your user type to
Power User.

Try to uninstall it, clean the cookies and temp folders completely, when u save the installation file save it on a different location than where u put it in the past and install it....Almost positive it will solve it.

It's a Vista thing, trying to quarantine downloaded files. My instructions solve it.
