viewing movies

I have downloaded "kill bill" in mpg format. WHEN I TRY TO REVIEW OR PLAY IT ALL I GET IS A BLACK SCREEN IN THE ULTRA PLAYER. No picture or sound.
Am using windows home xp and downloaded via limewire. Am new to this and this has happened with other downloads. ie movies.
Can someone out there help me out, as i said i'm new to this so keep any solutions simple.
