Default Why can't I play my burnt cd's?

My computer crashed awhile back and so did some of my programs. My burnt cd's will not play on some players. My cd player that I use at work will not play my burnt cd's. This stinks because this is where I listen to most of my music anyway. The old program I had my copied cd's on anything. What might be the problem and what could I do to rectify it?

what peerless sed is a definant possibility but also some cd players are picky about CDRs and especaly CDRWs .my cd player was made in 1990 and it plays normal CDs and CDRs fine but it rejects CDRWs. ther all differant .

Excellent point cathodraytube!!! One xtra point is burn speed. Some players don't like cd's burnt at high speeds. I always burn mine at minimum speed for both a reliable burn & so it lasts by using reliable media.

biggreg it depends what you are wanting. Do you want to burn mp3 disks or audio disks so you can play them on the stereo, car, portable, etc? MP3 disks will not play in most stereos & require a special mp3 player or you can play them on dvd players. Most burner apps will have an option to burn either as an mp3 disk or audio disk. See: Burning an audio CD from your MP3's
