connection problems
 

hey folks, hope someone can help me out! i have a good connection to LW at my office on the laptop(dsl)...when i take the laptop home (dsl also) i cannot get connected to LW....both are wireless....have followed the instructions with deleteing the preferences, still no connection at home....everything else works great at home just as it does at the office but no LW connecttion at home....what can i do....thanks

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

connection troubles
 

I spoke with my ISP concerning my connection problems and they very helpful in assisting me much to my suprise...the tech was also using LW PRO....he told me to lower the firewall on the modem from medium to low...i did so and now LW works perfectly even turbo...I still have my other firewall as well as wireless firewall....thanks so much for the assistance in this matter and maybe this will help others....can't guarantee your ISP (alltel) will be as cooperative but its worth a try...many thanks
