Question odyssey 350 GEARBOX

i have just rebuilt the gearbox/transmission in my honda odyssey 350. it was a royal PITA and took about 6 months to get it back together and to find parts . what id like to know is, is it normal for a gearbox to feel verry hot to the touch, like too hot to touch???

and i allso keep putting oil into it so its level with the oil plug at the top of the box , after i drive it ,the oil seems to be sloping out the vent hole on the top of the oil plug and when i take the plug out after a drive it ,the oil is no longer level with the fill hole. its like i keep toping it off and it keeps spitting it back out. am i overfilling it???

allso if anyone is famillar with odysseys , what type of oil should i use in the gearbox?? iv just been using gear oil (sae 10w 90 i think) is this good or should i use some kind of synthetic stuff ? or somthing thinner? or thicker?

(this thing may be more of an asspain than my computer...)
