![]() how exactley can they get away with inserting ads into this website?? cant you (or whoever is in charge and maintains the sever) just like make the file that is the website "read onley" ...er somthing? or you could at least put a big fat disclaimer pointing to them saying "THESE ADS ARE SCAMS,PLEASE IGNOR THEM , SORRY BUT WE ARENT PUTTING THEM THERE ON PERPUS AND CANT GET RID OF THEM ". |

![]() It has something to do with the site being sponsored by google or google ads. That's how it pays for itself I believe. We add those ads to a ban list every week. It takes some days before the ban takes effect. But there's so many & as I said, they use different addresses so some keep coming back. It's as annoying as hell. I'm not directly in the line for doing that. It's up to the site admins. I just contact them with the new addresses & sites. Pity a more comprehensive filter couldn't be used. |

![]() Dear CRT I agree with you, scam adverts should be banned but even if they were newbies would still find their way to the scam sites. From reading through various threads, most newbies (if not all of them) find their way to scam sites by googling, not by the adverts seen at the top of this forum. They only find this forum after they have a problem, which is usually after they have paid their money to a scammer, and get no response from their 24/7 nonexistent help line. Unfortunately CRT, newbies get scammed because they are over eager, do no research and, above all, seem not to use their common sense before parting with their money. The internet is a perpetual gold mine of commerce, information and communication. No wonder there are so many scammers on the internet because, as said before (well over a hundred years ago), "There's gold in a fools pocket, there's lots of it and its easier to get". Sorry CRT, you can't protect people who will jump first and look later. UK Bob Last edited by ukbobboy01; July 3rd, 2005 at 10:27 PM. |
