m4a... why doesn't it work? i've been using limewire for a while but this is the first time that the song that i was looking for (superfantastic by mr big) came up with a m4a file. i assume they're an old type of file. it downloaded fine but wont play in limewire and it doesn't appear in my folder or in media player. LOVE some help because this song is impossible to find. what is this type of file and (how) can i make it work? cheers fran |
I assume you are using Windows ... m4a is an Apple file type, and I am probably guilty of sharing some without realizing they can be a problem:) I'm sure there is a way to play them on Windows, but you may have to investigate a bit. I found this page on Google, which may be a good start. http://www.osxhax.com/archives/000046.html Let us know if this helps. |
Get Itunes for windows it plays m4a, m4a's are usually high-quality too before you delete those songs i reccomend gettings Itunes and by the way Itunes is free the subscription costs money |
itunes blows. the codec that lets you play m4a on windows media player is here: or if your one of those WMP "player haters" you can use VLC player wich plays them flawlessley without any codecs at all.. but VLC is hidious so id just go with the codecs for wmp... http://www.free-codecs.com/download/3ivx.htm |
